I'm trying to loosen up and let go.
It's pretty easy in the beginning. Just making marks, enjoying
the colors and the shapes, how they interact with each other. Layering
color over color over color.
Each layer adds depth and changes the entire painting in surprising ways.
Why have I never let myself just play with paint, like a child? I'm amazed
at what I learn by just playing.
Until moths start calling me to fly to the moon.
Now...when do I stop? I'm not quite sure. Maybe now?
Maybe not? Maybe one more layer.
I'll let you know! :)
May you be forever drawn to the light,
but remember: The darkness defines the light...
and sometimes, the moon is beautiful.
♥Shelly
Looks very good. Have you seen the girl in the moon?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Conni. ♥ I'm not seeing a girl in the moon....and now there is another layer on the moon, so I'll have to post another photo later when I resolve this one. :) I'm so happy you stopped by!
DeleteYes looking good, I think it's quite hard to stop will we just know when they are finished? It's quite easy just to keep adding a bit more and a bit more.
ReplyDeleteYes, Sandra, I'm not sure how to know, I just trust I will! :)
ReplyDeletethank you for your kind visit and encouragement! yes...angel trumpets ring true for us both.
ReplyDeletei will return and discover more of your beauty but right now i am off to the shop and mosaics.
all the while singing my new love affair with paint!
Your angel trumpets painting is glorious, Rebecca! Your blog is a place I love to visit. Such a soulful spot on the web. Mine is just an itty baby, but someday, maybe I will have time and knowledge to make it a reflection of my heart.
DeleteLove your colors in each stage, Shelly. Sometimes I think I"m done and then I come back and do some more, sometimes even a long time later. It's just fun to keep doing it. With the demands of ministry my art is pretty much just an art journal for now and some little paper projects. Went to art school in Kansas, eons ago.
ReplyDeleteFollowing your blog now and rss on your site.
